Spirituality

Spirituality is the highest form of healing. It has long been neglected by western medicine, surrounded by controversy and frequently confused with religion.

My personal understanding of spirituality is that it is an ability to get in touch with something much bigger than I or We or Us. This "something" can be called God, or Universe, or just Love, but when we do get in touch with this force, energy, or frequency, we can usually feel it; feel that God is something that is far beyond anything that can be captured by language – because of its limitations — and can only be experienced. With the experience usually come profound insights, a sense of acceptance and peace, as well as healing for those who seek it.

Historically, religions became a middleman between God and man. As a middleman they often bargain and fight wars over whose god is better, use the name of God to punish those who do not obey him, send people to kill and torture each other in his name, or use explosives, making human or airplane bombs in the name of God. It appears that all major religions, be it Judeo-Christianity or Islam, used ideas of Spirituality. It is of interest that only one major religion, Buddhism, was able to avoid this pitfall, remaining free of blood and corruption.

Healers can use many methods of healing. They can become skillful in bringing the healee to where Spirituality will start doing its own job of Healing, but they have limitations and can only bring a person to the doors of Spiritual Healing, beyond which they cannot go. Beyond this door is a territory between God and the Seeker. The role of the Healer is to point the way and coach the healee in his personal journey.

When Healers get in touch with the frequencies of God, they become better at the art of healing.

David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D. made attempts to develop a way of measuring spirituality. In his seminal book, "Power vs. Force. The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior," he developed the Map of Consciousness, measuring spirituality of human beings, animals, countries, religions, books, etc., guided by Kinesiological testing.

Multiple studies have been conducted in an attempt to measure if spirituality or the power of intention can have a healing effect. And indeed — it does. The power of prayer and intention can have a positive effect on sick people, plants, cultures of bacteria, and even mechanical equipment. Larry Dossey, M.D. has several review articles and a book summarizing the effects of intention and prayer.

Spirituality is not available for sale, but it can be harnessed by using meditation, yoga, chi gong, imagery, prayer, service to others, affirmations and other methods. A healer can give tools and guidance, but the client needs to do all the "driving."
